Allegations of Misconduct and Abuse of Authority: A Call for Accountability in Kasur Police

In recent months, serious concerns have emerged regarding the conduct of certain officials within the Kasur Police. Multiple incidents circulating on social media and reported by citizens raise troubling questions about abuse of authority, violation of constitutional rights, and selective enforcement of the law.

These allegations demand immediate attention from senior authorities, including the Inspector General (IG) of Punjab.

Public Humiliation of Young Citizens

Several widely discussed incidents involve:

  • Young individuals allegedly detained for kite flying and publicly humiliated.

  • Youth arrested at private gatherings, with officers reportedly recording and threatening to circulate videos.

  • Detainees allegedly forced to undergo degrading treatment before any conviction or formal judicial process.

The Constitution of Pakistan guarantees:

  • Article 14 – Right to dignity and privacy

  • Article 4 – Right to be treated in accordance with law

  • Article 10A – Right to fair trial

Public humiliation before guilt is proven violates not only legal principles but also basic human decency. Law enforcement must operate within constitutional boundaries, not outside them.

Allegations in the Case of Haji Fayyaz Ahmed

A particularly serious matter involves allegations concerning a businessman, Haji Fayyaz Ahmed, reportedly associated with the automobile trade.

According to claims made by his representatives:

  • A raid was conducted by CIA officials.

  • Vehicles, gold, and cash were allegedly seized.

  • He was implicated in a robbery case described by his side as fabricated.

  • Identification parade proceedings were conducted.

  • A significant financial discrepancy has been alleged between claimed recovery and reported case records.

These are serious allegations. If proven, they point toward misuse of investigative powers and manipulation of criminal proceedings.

However, such matters must be determined transparently through proper judicial inquiry.

Concerns Regarding Narcotics Cases

There are also broader allegations suggesting:

  • Selective registration of narcotics cases.

  • Alleged targeting of certain individuals.

  • Claims that influential offenders avoid consequences.

  • Concerns about intermediaries (“touts”) influencing police action.

If true, such practices would undermine public trust and weaken genuine anti-narcotics efforts.

Effective policing requires credibility. When enforcement appears selective, both justice and public confidence suffer.

Administrative Concerns

It has also been alleged that access to senior officials is limited, and ordinary citizens struggle to have their grievances heard.

Leadership is not only about enforcement statistics; it is about ensuring transparency, oversight, and accountability within the force.

Even where intentions may be aligned with public welfare, flawed methods can cause serious harm.

The Need for Oversight and Reform

This blog does not seek to declare guilt. Rather, it calls for:

  • Independent inquiry into allegations of misconduct.

  • Strict action against any official found abusing authority.

  • Protection of innocent citizens from harassment.

  • Transparent handling of narcotics and robbery cases.

  • Reinforcement of constitutional safeguards in all police actions.

The fight against crime must never become a violation of citizens’ rights.

A Message to the Inspector General of Punjab

It is respectfully urged that senior authorities take notice of these allegations. A fair internal review, independent oversight mechanism, or judicial inquiry may help restore public trust.

Strong policing and constitutional policing must go hand in hand.

Justice is not measured only by arrests, but by fairness, transparency, and integrity.
